Gone Are The Days

Gone are the days of people sticking around for a paycheck and a pension.

Today, people don’t want to:

  • Work with assholes
  • Work for assholes
  • Be told they’re bad
  • Be shamed
  • Be lied to
  • Be manipulated
  • Be devalued
  • Be stripped of their dignity
  • Told (verbally or otherwise) that their voice doesn’t matter
  • Do purposeless work
  • Be a cog in the machine
  • Have no say or clarity in their journey with your company
  • Be told when and where to be all the time

It does, seem, however that many would like to:

  • Be known
  • Speak up
  • Be coached
  • Be inspired
  • Add value
  • Make mistakes
  • Say they’re afraid, overwhelmed, sad, or confused
  • Have deep trust with their work relationships (clients, team, leadership)
  • Feel like they’re part of a bigger story
  • Do work that matters and has a soul
  • Work to live, not live to work
  • Build a name for themselves
  • Know what it will take to make more money
  • Have a real interest in how the company performs, grows, and invests
  • Have flexibility to do other things they care deeply about
  • Take their work seriously and perform at a high level

What else would you add to each list?

Building a brave brand means treating your team with dignity, compassion, and empathy.

We’re all humans here, after all.


PS – we’re far from perfect, but we’re always looking to add clients to our partner and project family, as well as superstars to our team who like bucket two a bit more than the first 🙂
